I am a Melbourne based graphic designer who is currently working from a studio space in Prahran as a freelance designer. I have over 12 years experience working in many feilds of design. This site features a selection of projects which I have created during this time.

I started my professional career at one of Melbourne’s leading Publishing companies Niche Media. I was responsible for the layout and redesign of such titles as Cinema Papers, Macworld Australia, and Marketing eBusiness. Other magazines I was involved in included Desktop and Inside (interior review).

After completing almost three years at Niche Media I was employed by Blue Boat, a multi disciplinary design studio in East St Kilda. For seven years I enjoyed the demanding role of Senior Designer evolving to Art Director.

Working with a team of another Senior Designer, a Creative Director and Production Manager I was responsible for the creative direction of the company and also art directing two junior designers. I was also responsible for working directly with key clients, personally managing projects from original brief right through to final product.

Blue Boat is predominantly a corporate design print based studio but also produces a wide range of other creative projects such as packaging, advertising, brand management, web design/multi media and signage. Working in such a mixture of creative environments have allowed me to become a very flexible and multi talented designer.

Since leaving Blue Boat in early 2007 I have enjoyed freelancing for many studios and independent clients
which has given me the opportunity to develop my own personal management skill set and creative style outside of full time work.

I was responsible for the front end design
of websites. I also was involved in the corporate branding of new business and a pro-active role in managing clients and freelance designers.

2007-2008

Employed by Dickies Street wear on a
part time basis. This role quickly evolved
to full time then casual as my freelance clients grew.
My role at Dickies was to oversee the creative direction of the company in Australian and New Zealand for street
wear and work wear apparel. My role consisted of managing the website, liasing with international suppliers, responsible for competitive quotes, designing the seasonal ranges and linebooks, photography of products, designing the creative for advertising and managing the consistency
of the brand as a whole.

2001-2007

Employed by Blue Boat Design as a senior designer, I quickly evolved to become the studios art director and was responsible for the creative direction of two junior designers and the creative direction of the company.
I was involved in the production of many design areas such as advertising, copy writing, packaging, publishing, wine label design, corporate identity, multi media, and brand management. These areas combined have enabled me to become a very flexible and efficient designer.

1999-2001

e-business, rex hunts fishing adventures, macworld and cinema papers. I was also involved in the design of other major design titles including inside interior review and desktop magazine.
